Be careful, they have charged me for works in my rented house without my approval. I had no idea even when they booked for those works, what they fixed for......really I got flabbergasted by that. What's worse, there was absolutely no apology from the office manager who managed the staff (apparently he left the office all of sudden without any notice) who ignored their office procedure. Not very well managed office.Adding this part a year later after I wrote above: AGAIN the another staff who has been in charge of my house (for letting) left this office all of sudden this week! Another one!!! What is wrong with this office??? I have never seen such a fast turn over office before! I have no reply for my any of emails from any of them for a few days now..... What is going on there???If you are looking for estate agent to let your property now, it's better to go elsewhere. They are too busy to deal with anything else right now as the staff left all of sudden.Another thing I have found out that their inventory system has been totally rubbish. They didn't log everything for the inventory, so the new staff who took over and visited my house for the inventory inspection after tenant left can not find out what is missing at my house!!! The record of inventory she was given did not tell everything she needed to know for the inventory check inspection!!!! It's a shambles!!!I have now changed to other agent, so I'm in a totally different world now! I stayed for too long with this rubbish agent. Just go to other agent, don't even consider this agent for anything. This agent doesn't even deserve one star to be honest.
We have rented a property for 2 years which is managed by R M English in Pocklington. The staff are always courteous, respectful and realistic of our expectations regardless of however busy they may be, they never fail to make us feel valued and listened to. They respond to any queries efficiently and effectively. The lettings team have helped foster an excellent relationship between ourselves and the landlord for which I am extremely grateful. I can't recommend them enough. Keep up the good work.
We were very disappointed with the service we received - the tenants referenced by RM English turned out to be bogus - they stopped paying the rent after one month, they were smokers when we asked for non-smokers and they smoked in the house, they trashed the house and left without returning any of the keys; we had asked RM English to find a professional couple - we only found out after they had moved in that they also had a young child living in the house; we paid for professional referencing and trusted this had been done - we had to ask for a copy of the reference as it hadn't been shown to us before the tenants moved in. As soon as we read the reference we could see that this couple could not afford to pay the rent + other outgoings on this 4 bedroom houseWhile we opted for a tenant find only rather than a managed tenancy - we still expected some help from RM English as they had introduced the tenant to us, but there was non forthcoming; they would not even return the referencing fee as a gesture of goodwill.Since we are currently living overseas we decided to cut our losses and have now sold the property
Regards Lettings; Before 2014 the staff were very efficient, after that they have decline in their work, since they have changed staff often. Poor at dealing with issues.
